FLUMEN
(FLUvial Modelling ENgine) solves the shallow water equations on
unstructured
adaptive meshes. It is an extension of the standard Hydro2de
program and is especially useful for the modelling of hydraulic complex
situations.
Main Features
based on the shallow water equations in
conservation form
numerically stable in the presence of
steep slopes (sub- and supercritical
flow, hydraulic jumps)
models wetting and drying process
(allowing dry starts and moveable boundaries)
mobile
bed modul to account for deposition/erosion of sediments and bank
failure
animated graphical output for intuitive
analysis of complex flows
The program solves the
depth-averaged
shallow water equations on an unstructured mesh. The equations describe
the flow field over moderate slopes where the pressure distribution is
approximately hydrostatic. A conservation form is used that remains
valid
in the presence of shocks (e.g. hydraulic jumps). The numerical method
is based on an explicit cell-centred finite volume scheme. See the online
manual for more details on how to use Flumen.
